THE WIDOWMAKER

An engineer obsessed with the truth takes the wheel of the legendary GD808 VX-T to find out why it killed her brother, and how far she’ll go to tame it.

After the mysterious death of Kazuo Hoshino behind the wheel of the GD808 VX-T prototype, Aiko Hoshino, a brilliant but tormented engineer, infiltrates the forbidden Gensei Hills circuit to uncover the truth. Competing against an experimental vehicle whose behaviour appears to adapt and against a silent corporate machine, she plunges into a paranoid race where mastery of the car may demand the ultimate sacrifice.

The Widowmaker is an upcoming independent machinima film produced by ExauLuc Studio, Xido Pictures & Zeus Pictures and currently in development inside Roblox Studio. The project began in June 2025 and is scheduled for release on April 10, 2027.

Developed as a long-term independent production, The Widowmaker combines elements of thriller, science fiction and automotive drama. The project involves an international voice cast and extensive worldbuilding, including detailed documentation, character development, technical design and cinematic environments created specifically for the film.

The production process spans nearly two years, with phases including writing, pre-production, motion capture, animation, sound design and musical composition. Much of the work is carried out by a small creative team collaborating online.

While machinima projects are often short-form productions, The Widowmaker aims to push the format further by delivering a feature-length narrative built entirely within a game engine.
